Melissa began her education studying Veterinary Medicine, but through the course realised she wanted a more rehabilitative role where you could spend more time with the patients and see the results of your efforts. From there, she switched to complete a BSc (Hons) in Equine Therapy and Rehabilitation which gave her great grounding in a range of therapeutic techniques, and pointed her towards hydrotherapy. Having enjoyed swimming and sailing growing up and always having a passion for caring for animals, hydrotherapy was the perfect way to combine the two! She recently completed her Level 3 Canine Hydrotherapy qualification at Greyfriars Training Centre.

Melissa has a soft spot for all things spaniel, with two of them at home herself (Molly and Winston), as well as a cat called Mirabel. Outside of work, she can be found reading or crocheting, usually with the “help” of one of the pets!
