- Level 3 Hydrotherapy Certificate
- Experienced Dog Handler
James started his working career as a gamekeeper in North Yorkshire and from a young age trained and worked his own gun dogs. This career took him from Northern Ireland to the Outer Hebrides.
In 2007 he joined the Royal Army Veterinary Corps as a dog trainer and handler. During his third tour of Afghanistan with his search dog “Tam”, he was involved in an IED blast, leaving him with life-threatening injuries. After numerous surgeries including a hip replacement, he is well on his way to recovery.
Hydrotherapy played a large part in his own rehabilitation so he has now found a way to incorporate his love of dogs with a career that will be less physically demanding. Being able to help dogs recover from injury or surgery is extremely rewarding and James is all too aware of the time and effort it takes to improve muscle development and range of movement of damaged limbs and joints.
