Freya has always had an interest in small animals. Starting out walking local dogs for pocket money, with ambitions to work in the animal industry when she was older. After doing a degree at Leeds Metropolitan University she worked at Askham Bryan College in the animal management department and completed a dog grooming course alongside this.
Freya originally joined Operation K9 part-time as a pool-room assistant and was planning on going to study as a vet nurse. But after working in the hydrotherapy environment she discovered a love of working with dogs that needed therapy and rehabilitation.
She has now completed a level 3 diploma in small animal hydrotherapy at Hawksmoor Hydrotherapy centre and is working full time at Operation K9 as a hydrotherapist, along-side the rest of our team. She has developed a keen interest in complementary therapies and is currently training to become a canine massage therapist and hopes to bring this into her treatment plans in the future
